Surrounded by Rhododendrons, mountain quiet, Teddy’s Rest is. especially welcoming for families with smaller children, featuring a cozy playroom where little ones can play in the teepee, read and unwind. Guests can also enjoy Land Harbor’s wonderful amenities, including the lake, seasonal pool, playground, walking trails, golf, weekend music and bingo and peaceful community charm.
You’ll be close to all the activities the high country has to offer including, skiing, h.iking, waterfalls, Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie RR, gem mining and so much more, Banner Elk, Asheville, Boone and Blowing Rock are just a short drive to make Teddy’s Rest the perfect home base for your mountain home base.

Teddy’s Rest is more than just a cottage. It’s a place rooted in love, healing and memories that last a lifetime.
Seventeen years ago, I brought home a tiny goldendoodle named Teddy. Just three months later, I lost my tragically lost my husband. In my hardest season of my life, Teddy became my constant-my comfort, my companion and truly my heart and soul dog. In so many ways, he saved my life.
Together we would escape the SC summer heat and find peace in these Appalachian mountains, where I myself grew up. This became our sanctuary-a place breathe, heal and simply be.
When Teddy crossed over the Rainbow Bridge three years ago, the loss was immeasurable. Naming the cottage felt impossible, until I heard “Teddy’s Rest”. My heart sank in the most beautiful way. I knew it could be go by no other name.
The cottage is named in his honor-a place of rest, comfort and quiet joy. My hope is that when you stay here, you feel the same peace and warmth that Teddy and I found in these mountains.
